Y E L R I H S (aka Shirley backwards) is an electronic music producer, musician, composer and DJ specializing in techno, house, and progressive electronic sound design. A classically trained pianist and former drummer, she blends music theory with modern production to craft immersive and uplifting dance experiences. Known for her driving basslines, dynamic vocals, and emotive storytelling, she brings positive energy to every set and is currently exploring ways to integrate live percussion and instruments into her performances.

Her accomplishments include being featured on Blond:ish’s Abracadabra TV and reaching #1 on Beatport with her track Robots Love to Dance (Dubtrxx label), and was a semi-finalist in the Miami Groove Cruise DJ competition. She has proudly supported global artists such as Eli & Fur, Genix, Sam Divine, Morgan Page, J. Worra, Ferreck Dawn, Nostalgix, Le Youth, Sydney Blu, Spencer Brown, and Qrion, among others.

Based in Edmonton, AB, Canada she is a 2024 FEMME HOUSE Fellow, a Cosmic Academy alumni, and the 2025 TD Music Artist in Residence at MacEwan University. She is also a DJ mentor and co-founder of VIBE Collective.ca, with a focus on empowering underrepresented voices in electronic music. She actively champions gender equity through organizations like Women in Music, Femme House, Change the Beat, and She-Q Audio. Thoughtful and ever-evolving, Y E L R I H S crafts sets that spark connections on the dance floor and foster a sense of belonging, while her mentorship and advocacy actively help grow a more inclusive music community.
